Judging:

12 noon

Aims:

To highlight the talent, creativity and ingenuity of young, rural Victorians and in doing so encourage entrants to be role models across local communities.


To encourage and reward enthusiastic, skilful and industrious young people, living or having an involvement in rural environments.


To assist all entrants through their participation to develop strong communication and leadership qualities.


Enable the applicant to gain greater proficiency in their chosen field and also to develop the applicants stature and reputation in that chosen field.

Prizes:

A certificate will be provided to winners at local Agricultural Shows. The Yea Rural Ambassador will receive a sash, $100 and a $50 gift voucher from Yea Pharmacy, Yea.


Group winners – Group winner will be expected to attend the state final to be held at the Royal Melbourne Show in 2020.


State winner – will receive a major prize and an opportunity to compete in the National Final.


VAS RULES AND REGULATIONS:


Open to ambassadors aged between 20 and 31 years as of the 1st May 2020.
The candidate must reside in Victoria

Judging Criteria:

Entrants to be judged in accordance with the following guidelines:

  1. Community and Local Show/Field Day involvement 40 points
  2. General and Rural knowledge 20 points
  3. Personality 10 points
  4. Ambitions/goals 10 points
  5. Communication skills 10 points
  6. Public presentation (3-minute speech) 20 points
  7. Presentation and Grooming 10 points
 
Total:
120 Points

VAS RULES AND REGULATIONS:

   
    Open to ambassadors aged between 16 to 19 years on the day of their local Show/Field Day.
 

Judging Criteria:

Entrants must wear smart casual clothing and will be judged in accordance with the following guidelines:

   

1. Community and Local Show/Field Day Involvement

20 points
   

2. General and Rural knowledge

20 points
   

3. Personality and Confidence

 

10 points
   

4. Ambitions / Goals

20 points
   

5. Communication skills

 

20 points
    6. Presentation and Grooming 10 points
   
Total:
100 Points
         


The winner will receive a sash, $50 and a $25 gift voucher from Your Wardrobe.


Winner at show society level will compete in a Group Final.


The Group Final winners will compete in a State Final run by VAS Ltd.




Report to show office at 12 noon.

Winner: $700.00 prizemoney & VAS State Final Trophy

Runner Up: $300.00 prizemoney

Finalist: Each Group winner receives a travel allowance towards the cost of attending the State Final

Yea Teen Citizen:

Open to boys and girls aged 13 to 15 years on the day of the Show.


Open to boys and girls aged 13 to 15 years on the day of the Show. The winner will receive a sash and $25.



Yea Junior Citizen:

Open to boys and girls aged 8 to 12 years on the day of the Show.


The winner will receive a sash and $25.



Miss Tiny Tot and Master Tiny Tot:

Open to boys and girls aged 4 to 7 years on the day of the Show.


The winners of each category will each receive a sash and $25.
